Bring your own lunch/snacks or grab something at Tellico Grains Bakery before heading out. Hikes will be mostly moderate. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing, and bring plenty of water. We’ll leave from the yoga studio around 11:30am and car pool as much as possible. This is a free event, although donations are always welcome.

Join Knoxville Open Water Swimmers every Thursday evening from April – October for an hour long swim. Swim is an upstream 30-45 minutes then return to the dock. Water temps in April- mid 50s and typically increase 2° a week until mid 70s in late September. Wetsuits are allowed. Must be able to swim at least 2000m in open water and be comfortable with river conditions. Free. Meets at Suttree Landing Park but check Facebook for any location changes.

If you don’t mind making a drive, head about 45 minutes south and check out Smokey Mountain River Rat Tubing in Townsend. River Rat rents their yellow inner tubes to anyone over 2-years-old. A float down the river is a great way to relax and enjoy the Tennessee sunshine without overheating. Prices at River Rat are reasonable, and if you book online or come with a large group of people you’ll get a discount! You’re more than welcome to pack a cooler with a bag lunch…but if you want to pack light, bring cash for their outdoors café, Toobers. The BBQ nachos and slushies are favorites here.
